Position:
The Golf Course Superintendent oversees the maintenance and long-term improvements of the golf course and related grounds. The role requires strong agronomic knowledge, hands-on leadership, and disciplined budget management. This position reports directly to the General Manager and works closely with ownership and Management Company.
Duties and responsibilities
Maintain greens, tees, fairways, bunkers, and rough to established standards
Develop and execute agronomic programs for turf health, irrigation, and drainage
Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise the maintenance staff
Prepare and manage the annual maintenance budget, controlling labor and material costs
Oversee equipment maintenance, repair, and replacement planning
Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and regulatory requirements
Communicate regularly with management regarding course conditions and priorities
Support tournaments, outings, and special events as required
Weekly staff meetings with dept heads

Year-round position with seasonal intensity
Peak operational season typically April–October
Off-season responsibilities include planning, budgeting, equipment maintenance, and capital project preparation
Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary: Competitive, commensurate with experience (target range $80,000–$90,000)

Educational Requirements
2 year or higher certificate in golf & sports turf management or equivalent experience
Experience Requirements
Class A or Class B Superintendent (or equivalent experience)
3–5+ years of golf course maintenance leadership experience
Strong understanding of northern/seasonal turf management
