The Director of UNH Wildcat Productions is a member of the UNH Athletics Marketing and Communications team, which is a component of the External Relations department. This role calls upon expertise in the areas of video production, live broadcasts, fan engagement, promotional messaging, and other marketing elements for use in the venue and via digital and linear platforms. This individual reports to the Associate Athletic Director for Marketing and Communications while working collaboratively with various department personnel in order to execute external relations strategies. This personnel includes the Associate Athletic Director for Business Development, the General Manager of Wildcat Sports Properties, members of the athletic marketing and communications team, and the varsity athletics coaches. This individual oversees the Assistant Director of UNH Wildcat Productions, Production Assistant, and gameday staff including, but not limited to, camera operators, control room staff, and broadcast announcers.Responsibilities:Oversee all videoboard and production room operations for Athletic and non-athletic Events, including, but not limited to, Graduation, WESPYs, concerts, trade shows, etc.Order equipment, design and build new production space with capabilities to broadcast on ESPN3/+ (or similar) and linear television networks as well as produce fan-engaging videoboard shows to uphold our high-level game presentation standards.Hire, train and manage videoboard âshowâ staff of production room employees for all UNH Athletics events requiring in-venue videoboard operations.Hire and oversee all broadcast and webcast talent and camera operators for UNH Wildcat Productions eventsServe as point person for outsourcing broadcast personnel when requiredOversee the creation of the run-of-show for all in-arena entertainment and broadcasts as well as design gameday entertainment assets.Coordinate and collaborate with the marketing and communications staff to create video elements that run on video boards and broadcasts, including hype-up videos, crowd prompts, general PSAs, in-game highlights, replays, and contests.Oversee all in-arena entertainment as well as all broadcast elements including, but not limited to, on-field/court/ice promotions, RFID wristbands, Light shows, Tagboard, and Daktronics digital games, Ice/Floor projection, special effects, CO2 systems, and all new show elements.Oversee in-arena production for athletics events including, but not limited to, football, and menâs and womenâs hockey.Ensure implementation of league-mandated official review is operational for all events.Oversee in-arena entertainment and broadcasts from neutral sites where UNH is the Host team (i.e. SNHU Arena), where applicable.Ensure Video Signal is sent and received on all monitors in facilities, Field House, Whittemore Center, Wildcat Stadium).Serve as primary contact for concerts and conferences wishing to utilize videoboard at Whittemore Center and Wildcat Stadium.Support all non-UNH sporting events held in Whittemore Center and Wildcat Stadium to troubleshoot any scoreboard issues.Manage the approved budget for Wildcat Productions.Develop new and build upon existing relations with various campus units and departments.Serve as liaison to select student support organizations (i.e. âCat Pack Captains) with the goal of increasing student involvement and attendance at UNH Athletics events.Work with the multimedia rights partner, Wildcat Sports Properties, to ensure proper activation of all sponsored promotions as part of in-game entertainment and across various digital platforms.Collaborate with External Relations and athletics teams to create promotional and theme calendars.Serve as lead producer for in-game entertainment at designated Wildcatsâ athletics events.Identify potential opportunities for student-athletes to engage fans and tell their stories through creative productions.Work with external media partners on advertising efforts (radio, TV, digital).Other duties as assigned to elevate UNH Athleticsâ mission and goals.
Bachelor's degree preferred in a television production, sports management, journalism, or related field, plus 3 years experience working in sports television production (or equivalent). Must have strong editing, graphic design, and videography skills and the ability to manage students, multi-task and handle multiple projects independently. Ability to work evenings and weekends is required. Travel may be required.
